BERGENFIELD, NJ -- The Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps has been named the greatest thing about Bergenfield by Nj.com. The BVAC provides free emergency transportation to over 2000 Bergenfield residents every year on a 24/7 basis.
“I am proud of the incredible, lifesaving work that our BVAC does every year and I am thrilled to see them recognized for their service,” said Mayor Amatorio. “The men and women of the BVAC take time out of their busy schedules to help members of our community every day and are a tremendous example of the special people that make up Bergenfield.”
The BVAC has 60 volunteers that take on a 12 hour weekday shift as well as two 12 hour weekend shifts. The BVAC has been in service to the community since 1941.
