**Bergenfield Introduces GovPilot: A New Era of Online Convenience for Residents**

*BERGENFIELD, January 1, 2024 — The Borough of Bergenfield is proud to announce the introduction of GovPilot, a cutting-edge online platform that will revolutionize the way residents interact with several Borough departments. Starting January 1st, 2024, residents will have the convenience of submitting online payments for various services through GovPilot, beginning with the Health Department, Building Department, and Fire Prevention.

GovPilot represents a significant step forward in making essential services more accessible and efficient for Bergenfield residents. The initial phase will include the ability to submit online payments for Health Department services such as pet registration, nail and hair salon permits, and daycare services. Additionally, residents can use GovPilot for online payments related to construction permits through the Building Department and services provided by the Fire Prevention Department.

Mayor Arvin Amatorio expressed his enthusiasm for the implementation of GovPilot, stating, "The Borough continues to make strides in innovation, making our departments more accessible and easier for residents to do business. As we roll out this program, we hope to see additional departments come online and be more responsive to the residents of Bergenfield."

This user-friendly platform aims to streamline processes, reduce paperwork, and enhance the overall experience for residents engaging with Borough services. The online payment functionality is just the beginning, as the Borough plans to continue upgrading GovPilot to meet the evolving needs of the community.

Residents are encouraged to check back for updates as more departments are expected to join GovPilot in the future, providing increased convenience and responsiveness to the diverse needs of Bergenfield's population.

Bergenfield, NJ - January 2, 2024

**Mayor Arvin Amatorio and Council Members Sworn in for New Terms, Outlining Vision for the Future of Bergenfield**

In a significant ceremony on January 2nd, 2024, Mayor Arvin Amatorio was sworn in for his second term as Mayor of Bergenfield. Councilman Marc Pascual, entering his second term, and Councilman Domingo Almonte, commencing his first term, were also sworn in during the ceremony. Bergen County Clerk John Hogan officiated the swearing-in, reading the election certification for the 2023 election.

State Senator Joe Lagana (LD38) had the honor of swearing in Mayor Amatorio. Senator Lagana praised Mayor Amatorio's unwavering dedication to Bergenfield, acknowledging his pivotal role in elevating the town to be a shining example within the legislative district.

Assemblywoman Lisa Swain administered the oath of office to Councilman Marc Pascual, commending his steadfast commitment to diversity and tireless efforts for the betterment of Bergenfield. Assemblyman Chris Tully, a former Bergenfield Councilman, swore in Councilman Almonte, expressing gratitude for Almonte's contributions to the community and recognizing his understanding of what it takes to make Bergenfield truly great.

Bergen County Commissioners Tom Sullivan, Germaine Ortiz, and Rafael Marte, alongside Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton presented the newly sworn-in officials with proclamations from their respective offices. The special guest, Tammy Snyder Murphy, First Lady of New Jersey, extended her congratulations to the Mayor and Council, commending their dedication to diversity. Mayor Amatorio presented Mrs. Murphy with a ceremonial key to the city, symbolizing the strong partnership between state and local leadership.

Notable figures in attendance included Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, Alpine Mayor Paul Tomasko, Bergen County Democratic Chairman Paul Juliano, Wood-Ridge Council President Ezio Altamura, and former Bergenfield Mayors Bob Gallione and Robert Rivas.

Mayor Amatorio took the opportunity to present his State of the Borough Address, outlining his vision for the upcoming term. Key initiatives include infrastructure upgrades, continued focus on road improvement, economic redevelopment, and ongoing enhancements to local parks such as Vivyen Field and the Recreation Center at Memorial Park. Reflecting on his first term, Mayor Amatorio highlighted accomplishments, including road improvements, the completion of a new borough hall, phase one of Vivyen Field, the acquisition of Conlon Hall for an indoor recreation area, an effective response to the Covid-19 pandemic, all achieved without property tax increases over the past three years.

“Bergenfield is an amazing place where our diversity is reflected in those elected to represent us, said Mayor Armatorio. “We express a great deal of gratitude to the First Lady Tammy Murphy for attending and acknowledging the great work we do here every day for our residents.”

As Bergenfield embarks on this new chapter, the community eagerly anticipates the positive changes and continued progress under the leadership of Mayor Arvin Amatorio and the dedicated council members.

**Bergenfield Partners with Local Agencies for Successful Annual Rabies Clinic**


*BERGENFIELD, December 10, 2023 — On Sunday, December 10th, the Borough of Bergenfield hosted a highly successful bi-annual Rabies Clinic. The event took place at the DPW garage from 10 am to 12 pm, providing a convenient and accessible venue for residents to ensure the health and well-being of their beloved pets.
A total of 50 cats and dogs from the Bergenfield community received the essential Rabies vaccine during the clinic, a testament to the borough's commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership and safeguarding public health.


Council President Marc Pasqual, who was present at the clinic, emphasized the importance of this free service to the community. "This is an important free service we can provide to residents of the community," Council President Pasqual stated. "Our pets are our family members, and they deserve to be healthy, and I am proud to be here today witnessing the positive impact on our community."
The clinic, organized by the collaborative efforts of the Bergenfield Borough, TYCO Animal Control, and Bergenfield DPW, demonstrated efficiency and care. Residents were able to drive in with their animals, where technicians administered the Rabies shots one by one. After receiving the vaccine, pets were safely loaded back into their owners' vehicles, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience for both pets and their caregivers.


Events such as the Rabies Clinic not only contribute to the health and well-being of pets but also foster a sense of community responsibility and compassion. The Borough of Bergenfield remains committed to providing valuable services that enhance the quality of life for its residents and their furry companions.

Today, (12/8/23), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:

West side of Borough, from Schoolcraft Rd to Anderson Ave.   

East side of Borough, from Porter Ave to Highland Ave.       

Monday, (12/11/23), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:

West side of Borough, from West Clinton Ave moving North. 

East side of Borough, from Brook Street to Smith St, moving South.  

 

Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles.

We will be doing another full pass through the town!
