Bergenfield Girl Scout Troop 98029 Decorate Borough Tree for Winter Wonderland Event

One of Bergenfield’s local Girl Scout Troops recently took part in decorating a borough tree for the upcoming Bergen County Winter Wonderland at Van Saun Park. The girls had a great day decorating the tree with homemade ornaments they made themselves, and will now be in the running for a chance to win the coveted “Best Decorated” award.

“If you need any inspiration or encouragement to get into the holiday spirit this year look no further than our Girl Scouts - who did a spectacular job decorating one of our trees,” said Bergenfield Mayor Arvin Amatorio. “I thank them for all of the great work they do and wish them luck as they represent Bergenfield at Winter Wonderland, which has been a great source of joy for thousands of families across the County and gives an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season as a community.”

Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums through programs from coast to coast, the Girl Scouts help young girls of all backgrounds and abilities find their voices, discover their strengths, and rise to meet new challenges and tackle issues most important to them.

This year’s Bergen County Winter Wonderland festivities will run from Friday, November 25th to January 2nd and the ice rink will remain open for skate season, ending on February 26th, 2023. Come enjoy winter-themed family fun as Van Saun County Park transforms into a winter-paradise.

On Sunday, December 11 at 5:30 PM, the season’s Winter Wonderland will officially kick off with the lighting of the 36-foot-tall centerpiece tree. The County will also announce the winner of the Town Tree Contest.

Winter Wonderland is home to an ice-skating rink as well as a practice ice-skating area for children, Santa’s North Pole Workshop, a heated hospitality tent, premier food trucks, an indoor/outdoor beer and wine garden, and rides on the Millennium Carousel!
