Bergenfield Road Closures due to flooding, wires down, etc:
Woodbine St between Lake & New Bridge – Flooding
Grove St between Bush & S. Christie – Flooding
Irving Place between DeMott & W. Johnson – Tree down
School Street between Elm and Apartment parking lot – Flooding
Prospect Ave between Hallberg & New Bridge – Trees & Wires down
Sylvan Ave between Washington & Murray Hill Terrace – Trees & Wires down
Murray Hill Terrace near Sylvan – Trees & Wires down
Wilbur Rd between Maiden & New Bridge – Flooding
Garden Street between Lake & Anderson – Tree down

There are a significant amount of residents without power in the south east sector as there are several wires down in and around Sylvan. There are also sporadic power outages in the other area where trees and wires have come down.

The DPW is working to clear the fallen trees as fast as can be done safely. Trees down with no electric wire complications will be removed from the roadway as soon as possible to open it up for traffic. Trees tangled with electrical wires will be barricade and must wait for PSE&G. We are currently waiting for PSE&G in several Locations. As of now there is no estimate as to when power will be restored.

Roadways closed due to flooding will be opened as soon as the waters recede.

Non-road closures – trees down:

Luke St.
Garden St.
Levitt Ave.
S. Taylor
Hillside Ave.
Seminary Ct.
E. Johnson Ave.

The above lists are fluid, more roads may be closed due to trees coming down as the rain continues to soften the ground. It appears at this time that worst of the winds and rain is over. It will most likely take several days to completely clean things up.

Residents are reminded to only use the 911 emergency system for life threatening emergencies. For all non-life threatening events please use 201 387-4000. At this time the Police department does not have any estimates of when power will be restored. PSE&G is contacted as soon as reports of power outages come in. Please contact PSE&G directly for that information.
