BERGENFIELD, NJ -- FEMA will be at Borough Hall this Sunday, September 26 from 9am-5pm to assist residents without flood insurance that were impacted by Hurricane Ida. If you are a Bergenfield resident that needs FEMA assistance please come to the courtroom of Borough Hall this Sunday.
This assistance is only for residents that have not yet applied for aid. Though it is not a replacement for flood insurance, FEMA assistance can help with basic needs to begin recovery. Possible assistance includes making essential home repairs, finding a temporary place to live and repair of certain household items.
Residents can apply for disaster relief directly by visiting www.DisasterAssistance.gov, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7am-10pm (local time).
“Hurricane Ida had a devastating impact on homes and businesses across our community, which is why it is so important that FEMA is coming to Bergenfield this Sunday,” said Mayor Amatorio. “If you were impacted by this storm and do not have flood insurance to pay for the damages, please come to Borough Hall on Sunday so that FEMA can help you.”
Anyone that enters Borough Hall is required to wear a mask in order to protect everyone in the building.
