In celebration of “Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa” (National Language Month) the Philippine Consulate General in New York and Sentro Rizal New York, highlight the Filipino language through Filipino pop culture, particularly comics.
Throughout August, a mobile exhibit will be featuring the iconic characters of the "King of Philippine Komiks" - Mars Ravelo - from the likes of "Dyesebel," "Darna," and "Captain Barbel," to his earlier works, such as "Rita," "Ric Benson," and many others.
The Filipino language comes alive through Mars Ravelo's captivating artistry and dynamic dialogues.
