DPW Garbage & Recycling Holiday Pickup Schedule: Labor Day 9/4/23

Please review your 2023 Garbage & Recycling pick up schedule calendar for changes in the pick up schedule during the week of 9/4/23 to 9/8/23. The Borough Hall Offices and the DPW will be closed on Monday, September 4th, 2023 in observance of Labor Day. Changes in the pick up schedule are highlighted in yellow on the garbage & recycling pickup schedule calendar.

The Moving Wall is coming to Bergenfield! Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, a replica of the National monument in Washington D.C. will be at Bergenfield High School from September 1st. through September 3rd.
 
  • On Friday 9/1 at 9 a.m., the Borough, Veterans Committee, VFW Post 6467, and Bergenfield Public Schools will hold the opening ceremony at Bergenfield High School.
 
  • On Saturday 9/2 at 10 a.m., the Borough will dedicate the field at Roy Brown Middle School to Col. Floyd J. Thompson, a Bergenfield native captured in 1964 who became one of America's longest-held prisoners of war.

Filipino Pop Culture Exhibit at Bergenfield Library

In celebration of “Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa” (National Language Month) the Philippine Consulate General in New York and Sentro Rizal New York, highlight the Filipino language through Filipino pop culture, particularly comics.
Throughout August, a mobile exhibit will be featuring the iconic characters of the "King of Philippine Komiks" - Mars Ravelo - from the likes of "Dyesebel," "Darna," and "Captain Barbel," to his earlier works, such as "Rita," "Ric Benson," and many others.
The Filipino language comes alive through Mars Ravelo's captivating artistry and dynamic dialogues.
