- Requirements:
- US Citizen and at least 18 years old
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Be in good health, and be able to pass a vision, hearing test and a background investigation
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- $18.50 Per Hour
- Pension System Contributions into DCRP

Wednesday (12/4/24)- Daily Leaf Collection Update
Today, (12/4/24), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:
West side of the Borough, from Elder Ave to Dudley Dr.
East side of the Borough, from East Central Ave to Bradley Ave.
Thursday (12/5/24), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:
West side of Borough, starting at Glenwood Dr N. moving South.
East side of Borough, East Main St. moving South.
*Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles.
**Leaves should all be place at the curb by 12/6/24 for final pick up.
Tuesday (12/3/24)- Daily Leaf Collection Update
Today, (12/3/24), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:
West side of the Borough, from Armour Pl to W Main St.
East side of the Borough, from New Jersey Ave up to Hickory Ave. ted.
Wednesday (12/4/24), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:
West side of Borough, starting at Harcourt Ave moving South.
East side of Borough, Hickory Ave moving South.
*Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles.
**Leaves should all be place at the curb by 12/6/24 for final pick up.

Today, (12/2/24), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:
West & East side of the Borough were completed.
Tuesday (12/3/24), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:

Bergenfield Mayor and Council Celebrate Girl Scouts Troop 98029 for Holiday Tree Decoration at Van Saun Park
Bergenfield, NJ – On Saturday, November 30th, the Bergenfield Mayor and Council would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Bergenfield Girl Scouts Troop 98029 for their outstanding efforts in decorating the Van Saun Park tree for our town's holiday season. This year’s theme, "Bergenfield Pride," was beautifully and creatively displayed, showcasing the Girl Scouts' dedication to both their community and tradition.
The Girl Scouts of Troop 98029 have continued this meaningful tradition, brightening the holiday season with their hard work and passion. We are thrilled to see the next generation of Girl Scouts embrace and enhance this special tradition, and we are deeply appreciative of their commitment to making our town proud.
Mayor Arvin Amatorio expressed his gratitude, stating, “The tree is beautiful, and more importantly, we are proud of the hard work and dedication of our young Girl Scouts. Thank you for your guidance and for making Bergenfield proud.”
The Mayor and Council would like to express their gratitude to the Girl Scouts for their leadership and enthusiasm in continuing this wonderful tradition. We are proud of their contribution to our town’s holiday spirit and look forward to seeing this tradition grow for years to come.

Today, (11/27/24), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:
West side of the Borough, from Windsor Rd to W. Broad St.
East side of the Borough, Pleasant Ave to Terrace Ave, including Portland Ave.
Monday (12/2/24), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:
West side of Borough, Westside Ave moving North.
East side of Borough, DeMott Ave working North.
*Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles.
**Leaves should all be place at the curb by 12/6/24 for final pick up.

Today, (11/25/24), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:
West side of the Borough, from Dudley Dr. down to Thames Blvd.
East side of the Borough, from Deerfield St. moving South to Bradley Ave, along with the Lincoln, Lunn and Haven area.
Tuesday (11/26/24), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:
West side of Borough, will be working around Norfolk area moving Southeast.
East side of Borough, starting at Grove St, moving South.

DPW Garbage & Recycling Holiday Pickup Schedule: Week of 11/25/24
Please review your 2024 Garbage and Recycling pick up schedule calendar for the changes in the pick up schedule during the week of 11/25/24 to 11/29/24. The Borough Hall Offices and the DPW will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th in observance of Thanksgiving. Changes in the pick up schedule are highlighted in yellow on the garbage & recycling pickup schedule calendar.
