Bergenfield Football Wins Championship 2023!

BERGENFIELD, NJ, November 27, 2023 — The Borough of Bergenfield proudly congratulates the Bergenfield Junior Football & Cheer (Senior Division) team for their remarkable victory in the championship game against Lodi this past Saturday, November 25th.

In a thrilling competition that underscored the team's commitment, skill, and sportsmanship, the young athletes triumphed with a decisive 20-0 win. This achievement marks a significant milestone - the first time in many years that the Bergenfield Junior Football team has claimed the Bi County Junior Scholastic Championship.

"We are incredibly proud of our young athletes for this outstanding achievement," said Mayor Arvin Amatorio. "Their hard work, dedication, and teamwork have paid off, and this victory is well-deserved. They have brought honor to our community and set a fantastic example for the younger divisions. We can't wait to see what they do next."

The Borough of Bergenfield wishes to extend heartfelt congratulations to each team member, their coaches, and all the supportive parents and community members. This victory is a testament to the strength, resilience, and spirit of Bergenfield's youth.

This victory is a testament to the dedication, skill, and teamwork of our young athletes and their coaches” said Recreation Director Ed Volmer. “Their success on the field is a reflection of the vibrant spirit of Bergenfield, and we look forward to their continued growth and achievements in the seasons to come."

The Bergenfield Junior Football & Cheer program is committed to instilling the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership in young athletes. The program encourages physical fitness, competitive spirit, and community involvement, shaping the youth of Bergenfield into future leaders.

Today, (11/27/23), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:

West side of Borough, from Schoolcraft Rd. to Anderson Ave.     

East side of Borough, from Highland Ave to a portion of Marcotte Ln.     

Tuesday, (11/28/23), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:

West side of Borough, from W. Clinton Ave moving North.

East side of Borough, from Marcotte Lane, and Carnation moving Southwest.  

 

Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles.

Holiday at the Pond 12/2/23

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BERGENFIELD, NJ — The Borough of Bergenfield, in partnership with the Mayor and Council and the Department of Public Works, is thrilled to announce the annual Holiday at the Pond event. The festive celebration will take place on Saturday, December 2nd from 1pm-6pm, at the historic Cooper's Pond.

The cherished tradition brings together the community to usher in the holiday season. Santa and his helpers will be in attendance from 1pm-4pm, creating a magical atmosphere for all. The day's activities will culminate in the annual Christmas tree lighting at 5:15pm.

Mayor Arvin Amatorio stated, "Every year, we have the chance to celebrate the holiday season with our friends and neighbors here at Cooper's Pond. Each year, the event gets better, and I want to extend a special thank you to our Department of Public Works and our Recreation Committee for their tireless work that ensures the event runs smoothly."

In addition to the Holiday at the Pond event, the Borough invites everyone to visit Cooper's Pond, a treasured jewel of Bergenfield. Refreshments will be available on a limited basis during the event. This event is for Bergenfield Residents.

Also, keep an eye out for the Fire Department's Chanukah Run and Santa Run later this month. It's a joyous season in Bergenfield, and we can't wait to celebrate with you!

West side of Borough, from Teaneck border near Quincy Lance moving back North. 

East side of Borough, from Porter Ave moving South.
