Visit the Bergenfield Library's Virtual Branch

While the Bergenfield Library's building is closed until further notice, the library staff are here to help you and your family cope during the public health crisis.
 
Though you're stuck at home, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Bergenfield Public Library's "Virtual Branch," featuring access to all of our free e-collections, our weekly Children's and Teen virtual programming schedule, information about research databases to assist you with school projects, access to our remote ESL and Museum Pass programs and more!
 
For those who do not have a library card, you are in luck! Any Bergenfield resident may sign up for a temporary BCCLS Digital Card to have free access to all of our e-services. Learn more and apply from here!

During this time, residents are encouraged to follow the Bergenfield Library's Facebook page to view all of our virtual programs and read local community updates.
 
As a public library, we always want to provide as much service to the public as we possibly can, even in these difficult circumstances. During our closure, overdue fines will be waived on all Bergenfield items. You may continue to return your items in our book and AV drops on Clinton Avenue. Our wireless network (BPL-Public) remains on 24/7 and can be accessed from your car in the parking lot.

  1. ALL parks closed (including Cooper's Pond & BHS track).
  2. Overnight Parking restrictions remain suspended until April 19th.
  3. Bergenfield Health Dept. monitoring all reported cases of COVID-19 by identifying all places visited and individuals they came in contact with to make sure appropriate measures are taken per CDC and NJDOH guidelines.
  4. Bergenfield Municipal Court has been suspended for the month of April.
  5. Bergenfield OEM's Emergency Operations Center remains open daily.

  1. COVID-19 positive cases: 143 (fatalities = 3). As more residents get tested, numbers are expected to rise.
  2. Cooper's Pond & BHS Track are closed effective immediately and All other Bergenfield Parks remain closed until further notice.
  3. Notable increase in COVID-19 related ambulance calls over last 72 hours.
  4. Bergenfield Health Dept. monitoring all reported cases of COVID-19 by identifying all places visited and individuals they came in contact with to make sure appropriate measures are taken per CDC and NJDOH guidelines.

Update to testing sites

From Bergen County:

On Saturday, March 28th, New Jersey's Federally supported/State run Community Based Testing Sites will be opening only to collect specimens from symptomatic health care workers and symptomatic first responders (Law enforcement, Firefighters, EMT's). All symptomatic health care workers and all symptomatic first responders must present valid credentials. Both sites will collect the maximum of 250 specimens each.

Starting Sunday, March 29th, an alternate schedule will be implemented in anticipation of a maximum capacity of 500 specimen collections per day. This alternating schedule will be as follows:

Bergen Site Operating: Sunday 3/29, Tuesday 3/31, Thursday 4/2 & Friday 4/3

Monmouth Site Operating: Monday 3/30, Wednesday 4/1 & Saturday 4/4

Commencing next Saturday April 4th, and all Saturdays moving forward, the Monmouth site will be dedicated to collecting samples from only symptomatic health care workers and symptomatic first responders. Until further notice this will be the alternating weekly schedule.
