BOROUGH OF BERGENFIELD - INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
In an effort to introduce students to government vocations, the Borough of Bergenfield has established an internship program.
The municipal internship program offers college students that have completed a minimum of 60 college credits an opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a government office environment. Interns will be responsible for assisting the Administration/Borough Clerk’s office with reception duties and servicing residents, programing Borough wide events, processing local permit applications, preparation of public meeting packets, and records management. Interns will have an opportunity to work cooperatively with government officials, department heads, volunteers and members of the public.
The Borough is seeking students with coursework in Political Science, Administration, Social Work, Communications or other related fields of study. Furthermore, students should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer skills, be self-motivated and dependable.
Students are encouraged to make arrangements for academic credit through participating colleges and universities. In addition, students may work up to 29 hours per week and earn $15 per hour. Interested students must submit a resume and cover letter electronically to Borough Administrator Corey Gallo by May 31, 2024 at This email address is being protected from spambots.
